Slick
The Slick aims to bridge the gap between fun and playful performance on the one hand, and a boat with the necessary reserves for serious whitewater on the other. It should be easy to control. It should glide smoothly over all features, and the slick stern should be easy to undercut without being overly sensitive when things get powerful. Oh yeah, and it should be good at surfing and ideally spinning too.
As always, the hull platform and the carefully designed rocker line do most of the work.
When you hold the Slick flat, you don’t initially feel like you’re in a half slice. The wide platform, which extends from the bow to just behind the seat, gives the boat incredible stability and makes it float high on the water. This makes quick corrections and sweepboofs easy and energy-efficient.
For us, a controlled and smooth edge change without any surprises is clearly one of the most important handling characteristics that every one of our models possesses. With the Slick, a new dimension opens up here, where the slicing tail suddenly comes into play. This not only reveals playful potential for undercutting and splattering, but also allows for very precise and controlled lifting of the bow should the features become larger than the primary rocker line can handle.
The deck really only needs to excel at a few things. It mustn’t get in the paddler’s way, and it plays a major role in the sensible distribution of volume and seating ergonomics. And it has to look awesome… Check!
The feedback we received from our team paddlers about the Slick confirmed that we hit the mark with our concept. The Slick flies, skips, slices, and splatters as if someone had designed it that way!
